Xbox One Developer Kits
Xbox One Developer consoles, often called Developer Kits, or simply XDK (Xbox Developer Kit) are special versions of the mainline Xbox One Retail consoles, which sometimes include special hardware for debugging (either software on the console or the OS) and which had special developer software and capabilities.
XDKs can be classified both based on their software and debugging capabilities, or based on their hardware. In most cases XDKs are very similar (hardware-wise) to their retail counterparts, except for:
- A different and exclusive shell design.
- A different motherboard, featuring a battery for the RTC (Real Time Clock), and additional hardware elements depending on the version.
- An LCD panel in the front of the console (only in Xbox One X devktis).

Xbox One Alpha XDK
Early Xbox One alpha kits, used between 2012 & 2013 before being replaced with beta kits.
Xbox One PHAT XDK
The original Xbox One game development kit. It has handed mostly to verified developers, during the first years of the Xbox One being in the market:

Xbox One S XDK
The Xbox One S devkits are characteristic for having a very subtle pattern of gray lines along with the text "XDK" on the top of the kit. These are very common, since they were given not only to AAA developers, but also x2 XDKs were given for free to ID@XBOX partners (a.k.a.: indie studios) to work on porting their games to the Xbox One.

Xbox One X XDK
The Xbox One X developer kit is known for introducing a new LCD display in the front of the console, capable of showing relevant information, like the FPS of the current game running, or other info.
Final Version:
The final and more widespread Xbox One X developer kit. It is also known as Scorpio kit (Scorpio is the Xbox One X codename) and it has been featured in several official Microsoft videos and other media.

Earlier Revisions:
There's a previous, less known Xbox One X developer revision, which is completely black and does not contain the LCD screen. This kit's shell is much similar to the retail Xbox One X console. It sometimes contains the following text: "XDK Test Kit" and might contain identifier QR codes as well.
