Xbox One
Welcome to the Xbox One section of the Wiki. In this page you will find information about the hardware versions of the Xbox One, the third videogame console developed by Microsoft, successor to Xbox 360, and released around the world in between 2013 and 2014.
There are three main major categories of hardware revisions this wiki considers, from less to more rarity and peculiarity.
Retail
Retail hardware are typically the kind of systems, accessories and devices that you can find and buy in the shelves of stores around the world. These devices are typically mass-produced to make cost of production cheaper.
Devkit
In the Devkit (short for Developer Kit) category are special hardware units. These were (and still are) always provided by Microsoft to chosen developers (either Microsoft developers, or external companies), under a confidentiality agreement, to help them develop games and software for the system.

Prototype
The prototype category describes special hardware systems that were used almost exclusively by Microsoft employees, mainly to develop hardware revisions and updates, operating systems, firmware, and software and games. Aside a few exceptions, prototypes were not given away to external companies. When given away, they were lent, and companies were often asked to return the devices after a certain period of time.
